As the Christmas season begins, the chapel of the monastery glows with warmth and joy. Christ has come!
Join us in our chapel for our Christmas Vigil and Christmas Mass (schedule below).
You don’t have to RSVP, but it will be helpful to know how many extra chairs to arrange around the Nativity for the Christmas Vigil. Hope to see you here.
Saturday, Dec. 24: Christmas Vigil 7:15-8:30 p.m. St. Mary Monastery Chapel
We begin this sacred evening in the Welcome Area, where we gather with lighted candles to process in to the chapel.
Tonight we will sit around the nativity, offering incense, prayers, psalms, and beautiful carols (this is not a Mass).
The Infant will be placed between Mary and Joseph by Sister Rose Joseph Kennebeck, OSB. (Our Christ Child is over 100 years old and is made of wax. He was brought from Europe by our foundress and 1st prioress, Mother Ottilia.)
Now the Christmas trees twinkle with lights, and the Christmas season is begun!
Sunday, Dec. 25: Christmas Mass 10:15 a.m. St. Mary Monastery Chapel
Join us for this festive Eucharist celebration.
We will begin by singing Christmas carols together in the chapel, now decorated with poinsettias and Christmas trees.
Let’s share our joy together!
