If you think you’re nobody special – and that what you do doesn’t matter – think about the story of Jesus.
He was born in a manger, in a barn. His first visitors were common shepherds. He was a nobody … till he died.
How does Jesus’ story speak to us?
We are all called to make a difference, to feed the hungry, clothe the naked, shelter the homeless, take in the refugee.
We are called to be gentle, forgiving, merciful.
We may never know how our word of encouragement – or a sandwich, or a moment of our attention – helps someone through a hard time.
Remember that this child born on Christmas Day was unknown to most people. Most people didn’t notice death. Yet Jesus’ words, actions and message changed the world.
We are called to continue what he started. So keep at it!
