Every day I take my morning cup of coffee and stand by the garden I tend. I admire the creation of color, the foliage, and even how the weeds blossom. I reflect on the places I have been planted in my life. I consider the weeds I continually have to pull to promote growth and beauty.
Discernment is a growing season. It is good to reflect on the places you have been planted, the colors of your personality, the gifts that have emerged, the experiences that have tilled your soil and uprooted your life, and the weeds you have pulled.
It is good to reflect on what promotes your growth.
Discernment is a gracefilled movement – reflecting on your life and embracing a future life where your garden can thrive. Smell the flowers, enjoy the color and be energized by the power of God. Then think of how your next garden may need to be planted in order to continue this gift of God’s presence.

Help me to Know
You gift me with all the good gifts that make me the person you created me to be. Help me to know and find your will and to trust that you will help me to understand the path you call me to journey in life. Where there is doubt give me courage. Give me a heart open to your quiet voice so I can hear your call to me. Help me to know your faithfulness and help me to be faithful to that which you call me to. Amen.

Loving God
Loving God, you speak to us through all of life. Help me to trust you and to trust that what you desire for me lies in the deepest part of my heart. And, what you desire is that which allows me to grow and to be the person you created me to be – fully human and fully alive. May I always center my life on you and hear joyfully your call to be your companion. Help me to follow my desire to live my life as best I can and to serve others with the special gifts you have given me. Amen.

Thank you for the beautiful prayers! I reflect today on how my discernment is alot like Autumn..My old leaves shed and I have to trust in that “deepest part of my heart” where God resides and where His Springtime will bring new growth.
May I learn now to trust in each season and in it’s movement in my life. To trust in the renewal of God, no matter what, in myself and in others. In the spring, the seed brings forth Life. My seed is like a Walnut..several layers of Husk, then a shell, and finally the seed. Each step in this discernment process has allowed a crack of growth and in the spring new life will come forth.
I am truly blessed.
